Description
"Hello, This is the Artist, Sheri Jo Posselt. I would like you to meet "Peace the Dragon" He is a protector. Sometimes he protects against bad thoughts and negative feelings. I painted him for a client at the Earthsong Summer Festival in Janesville WI 2018. His appearance surprised me in how it all transpired. I have permission to share this story. It is one of many which validates the source of what I do. The client sits down I hold her hands, "I see lots of orange and yellow swirling colors trying to take shape. One small dark spot and appears reminds me of a tadpole. I painted what I saw for the client. I am posting the picture on my Facebook page: SJPosselt. of the first raw image called; "Eye See Dragon Peace". I explain before I hold hands what I do, "I am going to hold your hands, I want you to take some deep calming breaths, say your name three times, and picture yourself in a place that makes you very peaceful and calm. Don't think about it, just picture yourself there with all the details. I don't read minds or picture what you see. I just need you to do this to really relax, so I can receive what it is you are supposed to have me paint. I do not imagine this. I have been using my imagination for years so I know how to do that. This is different. I actually see the image in front of my closed eyelids. It is very much like the Northern Lights with the sky still there in the background. When Northern Lights move, swirl and your mind wants to capture a form in them and you almost think you have it then it moves, changes and is gone. You even wonder, 'Did I see that?" I explain the first raw image is what I saw. Now I will Do what I call, "Intuyu" painting, intuitive. I use feelings to follow what the brush wants to do." As I am painting this dragon you see here, it was the easiest thing for me to do, while painting, I step aside and don't think. I let feelings come through and I stay aware and watch what happens just like the client. When it was obvious the image was a dragon. The client told me she was having some trouble in her apartment, with bad and yucky feelings. She told a friend who said he had a dragon he would send over to protect her."
" I bet!" she said, " This is his dragon!"
Know, there is a balance between what is and what can be. Don't disreguard magic because someone tells you it isn't real! I watch magic happen before my eyes with client's everyday. Things I would have no way of knowing come through in a simple painting. Yet life goes on as if it wasn't profound. It feels like I should be running around screaming,"Oh my God!"
Anyway more was said between me and the client and I could go on, but what was important to know was as I painted I knew the tooth on the dragon was some kind of strong distinction for me to remember. I can't recall if I said as much to the client, but we finished up and as you can see the tadpole image was the eye. The painting was complete, the client left and I went on to the next person, giving them my full focus. Later, my daughter who was helping greet people at the fair turned to me and said, "I am sorry to interrupt your session, but this person wants to tell you something." I looked across the table at a handsome young man who lifted up the 5x7- "Peace the Dragon" painting I had done and said, "Oh my God! This is my Dragon! You painted him for my friend exactly how he is! Everything about him is here!" I smiled at the man, he smiled back and then I saw his tooth. It was thee tooth. It didn't stick out or look unusual, but it was the same exact tooth I painted on the dragon. I could never explain the feeling at that moment, when recognition in a new language from the dragon said, " I am his dragon and you painted me correctly. See we even have a matching tooth!" and as I watched the man walk away with joy in his step. I knew the sparkle of his tooth was reflecting the now familiar enamel of Peace the Dragon.
